And how blockchain & the metaverse are being used to support them.

  1. Regenerative Resources — using mangroves (the hidden asset ofcoastal stability, fisheries, climate balance & more).
Stumbled upon it while researching Conservation-related NFT projects to see who my competitors were in the space.

2. Global Coralition — uniting art, science and community to regenerate collapsing coral reef ecosystems. (Full disclosure: am in touch with the founders about collaborating with OOCAM)

3. ClearBot — cleaning the oceans with robot swarms. Gaming gient Razer actually pitched in to help. The founders are from my alma mater.

Open Ocean Camera. Sleek spycam that can detect and identify animals. 1 month battery life. Perfect for researchers using photo data (especially BRUVs; also deep sea capable 100m+). Happy to provide more info: mike@surftapes.com

4. OOCAM — the ocean animal spycam (full disclosure; I’m an ambassador)

5. DIATOM Fund — Ocean Protection DAO with heavyweights from the US Coast Guard, a guy who hangs out at Necker Island / with Richard Branson and kiteboarders like Susi Mai (you know I love kiteboarding) & more.

DIATOM.fund launched their own NFT fundraiser — Whalez NFT. One sold for 106ETH — roughly 400kUSD at the time of writing.

How is blockchain making impact in conservation, despite its exorbitant electricity consumption? More here.
